Photo
Exhibition on World Heritage sites in China
On the occasion of the 30th anniversary of reinstating of China’s rightful seat in the United Nations, Arniko Society, together with the Embassy of the Peoples’ Republic of China organized a Photo Exhibition in Kathmandu on World Heritage Sites in China. It was inaugurated by Honorable Minister for Forest and Soil Conservation Mr. Gopal Man Shrestha. More than five thousand visitors visited the exhibition.

Delegation to China at the Invitation of Ministry of Culture
At the invitation of the Ministry of Culture of the Peoples Republic of China a five member delegation comprising of President Mr. Anoop Ranjan Bhattarai, Executive Member Mr. Lava Kumar Thapa, Former President Late Mr. Chakra Das Rajbhandari, members Mr. Rajesh Upadhyaya and Mr. Damber Subedi visited China in October 2001.The delegation made courtesy calls at the Ministry of Education, White Pagoda Relics Preservation Bureau and the Chinese Peoples’ Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries. New Year Party2002
Arniko Society organized a Cocktail Dinner with Culture Programme to Celebrate the Chinese New Year, Chunjie on 8th of February,2002. It was attended by about 300 Chinese and Nepalese friends.

President Mr.Chakra Das Rajbhandari Passes Away
The Former President of Arniko Society Mr. Chakra Das Rajbhandari passed away on 21st February,2002. On 5th March,2002 Arniko society organized a condolence meeting. Speaking on the meeting which was attended by about 60 members the President of the Society lauded the dedication and the contribution made by Late Mr. Rajbhandari to Arniko society. He also prayed for the eternal peace to the departed soul.

Statue Unveiling Ceremony and Nepal China Culture week
Arniko Society this year added a new chapter to Cultural Relations between Nepal China by erecting a life size statue of Arniko, Nepal’s "Rashtriya Bibhuti" in Beijing on 1st May 2002. It was followed by one week of festivities including Nepalese and Chinese Culture program, live demonstration of stone statue carving, Nepali food festival, Photo Exhibition on touristic attractions of Nepal, Nepali handicraft Exhibition etc.

of Society Delegation to China at the Invitation of CPAFFC
After the Arniko Statue Unveiling Ceremony Arniko Society Delegation led by President Mr.Anoop Ranjan Bhattarai and Vice President Rajendra Nakarmi and member Lava Kumar Thapa as members, visited different parts of China from 9th May 2002 to 19th May 2002 at the invitation of Chinese Peoples’ Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries. During the visit the delegation made courtesy calls at the Ministry of Culture, Ministry of Education, Department of Culture Relics Preservation, to discuss the matters of mutual interest. Besides Beijing the delegation visited Xinjiang Autonomous Region, Sichuan and Shanghai.

delegation visits Nepal
Arniko Society participates in Seminar on “Study in China”Upon invitation of Arniko Society a five member China Scholarship Council Delegation led by Director Mr. Ma Jian She visited Nepal from 24th September to 27th September 2002. On 26th September 2002 Dongfang International Center for Educational Exchange and Arniko Society signed a Memorandum of Understanding for jointly organizing a Chinese Education Exhibition in Kathmandu from 11th Aprit 2003 to 13th April 2003. CSC delegation had meetings with Minister of Education, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Vice Chancellor of Tribhuvan University and Registar of Kathmandu University and
Representating Arniko Society, members Dr. Man Bahadur K.C. and Mr. Kalu Bhattarai actively participated in an International Seminar “Study in China” in Beijing in October 2002 attended by delegates from 17 countries.
Statue
of Manjushree in Wutaishan
Arniko Society signed and agreement with Yuan Zhao Monastry of Wutaishan to erect a Statue of Manjushree at the newly constructed temple in the Mid-Mountain of Wutaishan. Arniko Society will construct the statue in Nepal and Yuan Zhao Monastry is constructing.

Member Mr. Mahesh Man Malla Passes Away
Former Member Mr.Mahesh Man Malla passed away in Guangzhou on the 14th of December 2002. His untimely demise is a great loss to Arniko Society. About 50 members of Arniko society went to Aryaghat to express deep condolence to his family and prayed for peace of the departed soul. He made great contributions during his tenure as executive member.

New Year Party2003
The Chinese Spring Festival was celebrated with the participation of more than 300 Nepalese and Chinese friends. speaking on the occasion the Chinese Ambassador Mr.Wu Cong Yong praised the contribution of Arniko Society towards strengthening Nepal-China friendship especially the contribution in the past two years. Society members and Chinese friends presented a cultural programme on the occasion.

Upon invitation of Arniko Society a delegation headed by Mr.Ma Jian Shi paid a good will visit to Nepal on 17th Feb2003 to 21st Feb2003.During the visit they paid courtesy calls at Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Ministry of education. arniko Society organised a welcome reception dinner on 18thFeb2003, Asst. Tourism Minister Mr. rabi Bhakta Shrestha was the chief guest at the reception. Had discussion on areas of mutual interest and made plans for promoting visits self-financed trade delegation between the two contries.

Exhibition
Chinese Education Exhibition was organised by Arniko Society,CSC and Chinese Embassy from 9th April2003 to 14th April2003. Thirty universities participated. About 3000 Nepalese students and their parents had the oppertunity to get first hand info about education system in China and life of students in China.
